Exploring Theology and Religion in a Changing World

Inspired by the Catholic Benedictine tradition, St. Scholastica’s Theology and Religious Studies program invites you to explore theology and religion as sources of wisdom and meaning. You will encounter diverse beliefs and traditions while gaining insights into the most profound questions of human existence. From politics and art to science and war, studying religion opens a gateway to understanding the world.

Our curriculum will help you sharpen your critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and communication skills as you deepen your understanding of theological and religious topics. You’ll also learn to articulate the role of faith, religion, and the Catholic Intellectual Tradition in shaping meaning across personal and public contexts. Along the way, you’ll learn to examine complex questions through the lenses of human dignity, social justice and religious values.

To support and enrich your academic experience, you’ll benefit from small class sizes and individualized attention from your professors. Additionally, through a partnership with Saint John’s School of Theology and Seminary, you may apply to a 4+1 program to earn a Master of Arts in Theology at an accelerated pace.
